Who hand-crafts these artisanal home decor masterpieces and where?
Our artisanal home decor pieces are skillfully crafted by artisans from Assam, Manipur, and Tripura, located in the North-east region of India. We also collaborate with independent kaarigars (artisans) from various parts of India, as we believe in supporting and celebrating the rich art, culture, and craftsmanship from across the nation.
Where are your products designed?
Our products are a true collaboration between our experienced kaarigars (artisans) and our founder, Bharati Bajaj. With a design background from NIFT, Shillong, Bharati works hand in hand with the artisans, combining their traditional craftsmanship with modern design sensibilities. This collaboration ensures that our home decor pieces are not only functional but also infused with artistic value, meeting the unique needs and preferences of our customers. Together, we strive to create exquisite and sustainable artisanal home decor that reflects the rich heritage of craftsmanship while embracing contemporary aesthetics.

Yes, we are committed to sustainability. Our home decor products are primarily crafted from natural fibers and grasses such as Rattan, Cane, Bamboo, Water Hyacinth, and Kauna. We prioritize the use of renewable resources to minimize environmental impact.

Our handcrafted rattan home decor pieces have been known to last for over 100 years when properly cared for. They are often passed down through generations, exemplifying their longevity. Each type of grass used in our products has its own level of durability, but with proper care, they can endure for many years, akin to wooden furniture.
Will my product look exactly like the photo?
Each piece we offer is meticulously handcrafted, making it truly unique. While the shape and style will match the photo, it's important to note that due to the artisanal nature of our products, no two pieces will be exactly identical in terms of color and weave pattern. This individuality ensures that your product is one-of-a-kind and carries its own distinct charm.
Does your prices change?
Over the past two years, we’ve seen the cost of things like kaarigari, raw materials, freight, fuel, and packaging skyrocket. In order to keep bringing you premium home decor masterpieces without compromising on quality, we sometimes have to offset these costs by increasing our prices. However, transparent pricing works both ways; if we see these costs come down again, we adjust our prices accordingly.
What’s last call? Can I return or exchange thoseitems?
Our Last Call category is made up of discontinued styles that we’re offering at a15-30% discount. Since we won’t be bringing these styles back, all sales are final. Please note that we cannot facilitate returns or exchanges on these items.

We aim for your home decor to last you a lifetime. If anything happens to your order during shipping then let us know. We’ll send you a replacement promptly.
If you ever break a planter, crack a mirror or lose a coaster later on, then also let us know. We sell single items so you can replace just one instead of buyinga whole new set.

What are your fair trade practicesand how do you give back to the artisans you work with?
- We started out for a social cause during lockdown 2020 when artisans were struggling for basic necessities like food & healthcare. Instead of binding them by contracts, we let them work independently which gives them more freedom and opportunity to grow.
- We pay fair and consistent wages for all goods and reinvest into our artisans' small businesses as needs arise. We have also taken care of hospital expenses of artisans during the lockdown when there were dead stocks and no one to buy them.
- Sustainable income is our goal and the desire for our partners. Through sustainable income, our artisans can plan ahead, providing better opportunities for their children through higher education and savings for the future.
- In Kaarigari culture artisans work in collectives who share the same traditional skills. Artisans work from the safety and comfort of their homes and villages and are paid per finished good, not hourly, which provides a flexible and reasonable work schedule.
- We provide skills training to those in need. We plan to partner with the Women's Workshop to provide skills training for single mothers and free schooling for their children. We aim to take care of each one in the supply chain while also creating beautiful products that can be enjoyed in your home and each tell a story of craft and culture. Every purchase helps an artisan in Assam.
